There are already many different types of consumer electronics being manufactured which are all controlled by a computer. So instead of having to use a separate remote control in order to change the channel for the television or change the bulbs in the kitchen, you can do it from your computer. By doing this, you would be able to automate a lot of different tasks in your kitchen or bathroom while you are at work and thus reducing energy consumption while allowing you to spend less time in front of the TV or in the bathroom.

For example, instead of using a vacuum cleaner, you should invest in a cleaner that uses bagless technology.
